When funds belonging to a Georgia resident remain untouched or become dormant, financial institutions must report them to the Georgia Department of Revenue as unclaimed funds per the Georgia Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act. Georgia unclaimed money includes bank account balances, unpaid back wages, unclaimed insurance policies, securities, and uncashed checks.
